British Gypsum

British Gypsum
The Barrow-upon-Soar mine of British Gypsum has been developed since 1990 to create a mine to bagged plaster manufacturing facility to replace plant at their Gotham works. To meet ongoing growth in demand for Thistle plasters, a major expansion of the plant was completed in September 2002, increasing capacity by around 30%.

How's the market now? A gyp plant about 80 miles north of Reno, Nevada, that had been operating since the 1920s closed in the last couple of years, a victim of the real-estate downturn.

Seems to be fairly good, although these days there is competition from gypsum as a by-product of flue gas desulphurisation at coal-fired power stations.
