INSERT NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH
Rescue pony 6 or 7 months old found abandoned, under nourished, with barbed wire wrapped tightly around the leg causing an horrific injury. Our vet believes the pony can recover with care (the inset shows the first month progress) and fingers are crossed that he will continue to make good progress. The sad fact is that there are far too many cases like this and not all are saved.

IMG 9493
First turn out in the arena after convalescence since being found abandoned very thin and with a leg injury caused by barbed wire...he seems to be feeling a bit better... :) If you look carefully the scar is still visible (more obvious in the first inset).
It was a misty afternoon today, and he moved so fast, it was quite challenging to get a half decent shot!

IMG 5667 Minty, July 2015
There is nothing particularly remarkable about the photograph, rather this is all about the continuation of the story behind this little pony, partly told in the album "Project Minty" and in this video - www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvLWVaFMiSA
This is the earliest stage of introducing the idea of some weight on his back; too soon to go any further at this point, now he gets some more long reining from the ground and a summer out in the fields again before the real work starts next year...
