Rhyolite Lava formations from an eruption that devestated 600 square kms of what is now Mojave National Preserve, 17 million years ago.

This photo was taken by a Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera with a Super-Multi-Coated Takumar/6X7 1:4.5/75mm lens using Fuji Pro 400-H film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.
