I don't get it, Jim. You posted this magnificent shot 6 days ago and I have only just seen it! OK, I am sometimes a couple of days behind, but there must be a logical reason why I see your shots late.
I suppose if I post two at the same time, then only the second one ends up in the 'Your contacts: what's new?' listing, and it boots the first one into more obscurity.
Actually my posted / taken dates are always a complete fiction anyway...
I tend to keep quite a lot of processed photos uploaded into the photo stream but not public - then when I feel I want to publish them, I re-set the posted date to 'now' (which jumps them back up to first in the listing), and then make them public. That way I get to control the order in which they get viewed. For some reason, I seem to care about their sequencing..!
Andy Rodker club has replied to Jim Kerslake clubNo idea. You have certainly got me puzzled!
Unless ... I guess it is using ipernity to do what I do which is to download and save my photos in an external hard drive and edit them and save them into the cloud with Picassa. Only then do I upload to ipernity when the mood takes me. I am still posting shots from 2011 from time to time!
Jim Kerslake club has replied to Andy Rodker clubBasically I just upload to ipernity as usual, but I change the "who should be permitted to view this" privacy setting to "only me"... so I get a scattering of photos through the photostream that only I can see.
Later on, if I want to publish one of those old ones, I can then flip its 'visible by' setting back to "everyone", but at the same time I will modify the two dates ('photo taken on' and 'uploaded') to be that same day, so the photo then 'jumps' to being the latest one at the top of the photostream... and ipernity acts just as though I had only just uploaded it.
(Or at least I think it does...!)
It's a bit of a messy system, but at least it means that all of my future images that I'm not quite ready to publish yet are all safely uploaded and waiting in here, rather than just being on my local disk, which might fail one day.
Andy Rodker club has replied to Jim Kerslake clubHave a good rest of Easter. No bank holiday here tomorrow, we had one on Maundy Thursday.
