Last night's snow .... and -29°C (windchill -38°C)

This was not a sight I wanted to see when I got up this morning! Today's weather forecast: "Extreme Cold Warning. A prolonged period of very cold wind chills is expected. Extreme cold conditions are expected to continue through the weekend." Our temperature today is -29°C (windchill -38°C) and light snow is still falling. Will this extreme cold ever end? Tomorrow morning, 31 December 2017 will be -31C (windchill -42C). Definitely was a day to stay home if one could. Thankfully, I can also stay home tomorrow, though I know I will have to go out and clear my car ready for a fairly early start the following morning. It will be the start of a brand new year, and I will be taking part in the New Year's Day Bird Count for Fish Creek Park.
