Bird feeder from Trinidad

This is a beautiful bird feeder that was made on the island of Trinidad. It does not belong to me, sadly, but was bought by one of my friends to give to one of our mutual friends back here in Alberta. I am not allowed to put up bird feeders because they attract crows and squirrels - and mice! If I could have feeders, I would have readily bought one of these for myself. They were being sold at a small, outdoor display that we were taken to on one of our drives in Trinidad. Actually, I kind of regret not buying one, anyway, though I did wonder if it would survive in my soft suitcase. Anyway, it was fun to see this feeder in use in Barb's garden yesterday morning, when we spent ages watching her beautiful birds. I did get a photo of the feeder with a handsome male Rose-breasted Grosbeak perched on top, but as I have already posted a photo today of that species, I will post the other photo on a different day. Thanks, Barb, for always sharing "your" birds with us!
Yesterday, 20 May 2017, was a beautiful day, though the light was not always the greatest for photos. After spending time at Barb's acreage, we then drove the various roads SW of the city, as far south as Turner Valley, hoping to see a few birds. Beautiful scenery in the whole area. In Turner Valley, we called in to see another mutual friend and watch the birds that visited her tiny, but beautifully and thoughtfully designed, back deck. Thanks so much for having us, Jackie, especially at such very short notice!
