It tickles!

This photo just makes me smile. The word "hyper" came to mind when I first saw it and then, last night while cropping, I finally noticed the spider on the stem. That was when the word "tickles" came to mind. This Poppy seedpod just seems to have so much more character than others, no doubt partly because of the "eyes" and also the dying stamens that are pointing in all directions. The beautiful velvet hat just completes the picture. Silliness ... I know : )
Photo taken on 24 June 2015, when I called in at the Reader Rock Garden after a volunteer shift. The rather unpleasant colour of the pale background is from the gravel road that leads up to the top of the garden.
