Unidentified fungus

Sorry this is such a bad, blurry photo that does unpleasant things to the eyes, but I'm hoping that someone might be able to identify this small fungus. There were several of them growing in a small patch. We aren't sure if it could be a species of Bird's Nest Fungus, or possibly Hydnellum scrobiculatum / Rough Hydnellum or similar species - or maybe it is something completely different. It was seen on 7 August 2015, along a path through forest, SW of Calgary, near Millarville. Four of us did a bio-blitz of this property and it would be really helpful if we could find out the ID for this. Many thanks!
