Friendly farm cat
Felt like I was on another planet
Oh, those eyes
A smile for the camera
Little cabin in the woods
My Grandma's sewing box
The best of friends
Early morning sunlight
Sharp-tailed Grouse
A farmer's wooden storage bin
Get ready for a rollercoaster ride
Hidden amongst the branches
The sky is on fire
Cold stare
Cuddly ball of fluff - for CHIARA, MICHELE and EMM…
A brief moment's rest
Equine beauty
Too cold even for a dinosaur
Beautiful, but blurry
My paternal Grandma's sewing box
Horsethief Canyon, Drumheller
Close encounter in the dark
Mule Deer surveying their territory
Twisted
Great Pyrenees
Impressive old barn
Funny look? I'll give you funny look!
Stairway to Heaven
One of many
Gentle curves
Clark's Nutcracker
.
Some things grow old gracefully
A rather fancy barn
Alberta landscape SE of High River
Loving the snow
A coating of frost
Grandma's silver thimbles
Bowing their frosty heads
The creek in Canmore
My first Fly Agaric!
Well-hidden
For those who have hot weather right now

For the people of Newtown, Connecticut

I should have uploaded this Happy New Year greeting a bit earlier today - some of you are already in the year 2013. I wish my family and each and every one of my "local" friends, my long-time overseas friends, and my Flickr friends a very happy, healthy and safe New Year! It's hard to believe, isn't it, that this many years have passed since all the fuss about the year 2000? Thank you all for your friendship and encouragement, and for letting me share my photos with you - SO much appreciated! I'm looking forward to another year of seeing where you have been and what beautiful things in nature you have discovered! Happy New Year, everyone!
This photo shows the fresh new start to the day on 28 December 2012, when three of us arrived at our starting place for the annual Cochrane Wildlife Reserve Christmas Bird Count. There always seems to be a beautiful sunrise when we start that Count.
