Evening Grosbeaks

Evening Grosbeaks are beautiful birds, but we don't get to see them very often. Seven of us were very lucky to visit Barb Castell's acreage on the annual, provincial May Species Count on May 27th. Each May, she invites us back to her amazing feeders to see and include the wonderful variety of birds that visit her garden. Of course, I would prefer to take phtoos of birds in trees, but I'm still very happy to get feeder shots. The two closest birds in this image are females and the more brightly coloured bird in the background is a male. Bob and Candy, I believe this is the bird you were describing : )
