Sneezeweed / Helenium

Happy birthday today to good Flickr friend Suzie (Kazooze), who loves photographing flowers but whose garden flowers are now finished. Have a lovely day, Suzie - hope you manage to find a few things to photograph with your new birthday present. I think you'll enjoy a camera that is lighter and needs no lens changes : )
It's -3C (windchill -9C) this morning. I thought I heard on my radio alarm that there was a 60% chance of snow today, but it doesn't mention it on the Weather Network. Hoping snow keeps away, as they are supposed to be coming to build a new front door this morning - they came a week ago to explain that there had been a mix-up and they couldn't do the door that day.
Yay, I have a new front door! Not quite finished, but almost there. They have to come back sometime to caulk and paint. Also, one lock doesn't fit, so the contractor will pick up a new one for me, that is the right kind and size. Then came the dreaded words .... "we'll be measuring all your windows now, too!!" What??? I thought I was going to have maybe a few weeks in which to do much-needed tidying but mainly cleaning before anyone laid eyes on the interior of my place when they come to replace every single window! I never use a duster - in the old days when I used to vacuum, I would use the hose - but, boy, you should have seen a duster FLY the past half hour, lol!!!!! Then, I've just heard noises coming from outside - maybe they only need to take all the measurements from outside after all? Oh, well, those few dreaded words sure worked wonders, ha! Maybe I need to hear them, or similar, more often : ) Horribly overcast today and my new solid door makes the main floor so dark! Not liking that part at all - but these doors are much better as far as security goes. Anyway, I have no choice in the matter - everyone's doors and windows have to be exactly the same.
Photographed this colourful Sneezeweed at the Calgary Zoo, on October 14th.
IT'S SNOWING! Phew, they put in my new door just in time!
