Singing his pretty little heart out


There was such an ugly, rather blurry wooden post sticking up in the way in the photo, so I made a quick (i.e. lazy!) removal - not very elegantly done, either, but the "mess" is less distracting away from the bird. I watched this pair of Mountain Bluebirds on a few occasions in the spring/summer, just south west of the city, and they were an absolute delight to watch, as they circled high in the distance and then returned to the fence and eventually to the nesting box to feed their babies. To see a bright blue bird is such a wondrous thing : )
