Scottish Thistle

We saw this amazing Scottish Thistle growing on a patch of waste land in the Pump Hill area of the city a few years ago. A friend of mine is well over six feet tall and the plant was quite a bit taller than he is. I'm not sure, but I think there are only a couple of places in the city where this attractive thistle grows.
