Brome grass

I think I'm right in saying that this is Smooth Brome grass. Just trying out my new little Panasonic DMC-FZ18 on a walk at Votier's Flats.
The genus name Bromus comes from the Greek word "bromos", an ancient name for oats. This grass has become an invasive species and has taken over extensive areas.
