Amedeo Clemente Modigliani (12 July 1884 – 24 January 1920) was an Italian painter and sculptor who worked mainly in France. He is known for portraits and nudes in a modern style characterized by elongation of faces, necks, and figures that were not received well during his lifetime but later found acceptance.

Annemarie!!! This is just soooo beautiful. Thank you so much for the dedication...I am touched and overjoyed. *hugs* You don't know this but giraffes are one of my favorite animals. They are full of grace and beauty and unusual because they run by moving both legs on each side at the same time instead of a normal trot with one leg on each side moving together. It's actually faster than a trot!

I also love the color pattern on giraffes--all of them are so pretty and different! And of course, their amazing eyes and elegant faces. I adore them.

This picture you took is lovely and the light is so golden and accentuates this lovely giraffe's colors. What a nice picture...thank you so much for sharing it with all of us! :)

(Did you know? There are trotting race horses called Pacers and they are trained to run this way--the babies are checked to see if they have the pacing trait and then they are tacked up with a special harness which makes it comfortable to pace but not to trot.)
