Wonderful, I know what you mean about how special to be in their environment. I went to the Grand Canyon and went looking for deer in the backwoods. I went to the top of a hill to photograph some mule deer in the valley below and to my surprise they walked up the hill and ended up 6 feet in front of me on the trail. I felt a thrill being with them so close. :) Well done getting this photograph.

What a beauty. I love the dappled light on its face.
I totally get what you're saying, and I envy you so much.
Have you ever been scuba diving? It is a truly amazing experience to visit a fish's world. My husband and I will settle gently on the bottom and watch a reef for 20 minutes before moving a bit and doing it again. The fish moving around and doing their thing...it's incredible to see.
