Hike to Red Blanket Trailhead

We were very excited about this hike because we planned to hike 5 miles to Stuart Falls, which was supposed to be really beautiful. Along the way there were supposed to be several smaller waterfalls to appreciate, as well as the lovely scenery. Waterfall Curtain

My first HDR image!! (My husband learned how to do long-exposure and HDR images, and taught me how to do it, and this was my first attempt!) Silent Hill

Talk about moody! This area was hit by a fire some time ago and the forest floor was littered with burned logs, branches and downed trees. Amazingly, the fire didn't kill off every tree. This image was taken on our aborted July 2, 2011 hike to Stuart Falls by way of the Red Blanket Trail in the Sky Lakes Wilderness area of Southern Oregon.
