26/366: Golden Bearded Iris

In May 2013, Steve and I were invited to a friend's property to see something special. She and her husband spent many years planting hundreds of bearded iris rhizomes all over their property and she knew we would enjoy the spectacle. That we did! I spent hours in a blissful daze, capturing the irises to the best of my ability. Although I didn't always succeed, this was one of the magnificent blossoms that turned out nicely!

Am waiting for ours to begin the display in The Garden of Surprises - there usually is at least one surprise !
The lady who lived here planted at least 11 different varieties of Iris - names of them? Quit that exercise in futility .... if one looks in 5 different place, one will get 5 different namess.
So, being the 'Gardener' that I am -- I just named them myself !
Do you have more photos to share?
