151/365: "To love beauty is to see light." ~ Victor Hugo

We have so many beautiful wildflowers that grow on our property, but this morning I knew it was time to see if one of my very favorites was in bloom yet. The gorgeous Stringflower, with its soft pink shades and sparkling, unusually shaped petals, never fail to take my breath away. These gorgeous flowers, which are about 1" in diameter, grow very low to the ground and are found in our lower forest where they won't be burned by too much sunshine. It's always a challenge to find blossoms in direct sunlight, but I was determined. I know from experience that these blossoms are so much prettier when the sun's rays cause the petals to sparkle as if they are covered with pink glitter!
Victor Marie Hugo (26 February 1802 – 22 May 1885) was a French poet, novelist, and dramatist of the Romantic movement. He is considered one of the greatest and best known French writers. In France, Hugo's literary fame comes first from his poetry but also rests upon his novels and his dramatic achievements. Among many volumes of poetry, Les Contemplations and La Légende des siècles stand particularly high in critical esteem. Outside France, his best-known works are the novels Les Misérables, 1862, and Notre-Dame de Paris, 1831 (known in English as The Hunchback of Notre-Dame). Wikipedia: Victor Hugo
