The Gorgeous Dogbane Leaf Beetle

The other night I was out on our porch while the dogs were doing their business and of course that's the perfect opportunity to say hello to Roscoe, our resident Cat-Faced Orb Weaver spider! I noticed a beetle was about to get stuck in his web, but as Roscoe zoomed over, the beetle freed itself and flew right onto ME! Before it could fly away, I saw that it was gleaming in a metallic shade of green-blue and thought, "OH! I MUST GET PICTURES!!" So, I ran inside and put it in a jar overnight. The next morning I took the jar outside and opened it up, taking as many pictures as it took for the beetle to crawl out and fly away! Here are my best pictures, isn't this beetle a stunner?! :D
