SNev - Caliente
Folder: Nevada, southern
And vicinity. A small town 100 miles or so north of Las Vegas, on the Union Pacific railroad. It was founded as a railroad town when the railroad was built before the First World War. (Las Vegas, ironically, was also founded at this time by the railroad, then called the Los Angeles and Salt Lake.) The name comes from some local hot springs ("caliente" = "hot" in Spanish).
