Sierra Nevada, California, USA. On the way to the Pacific Crest Trail near Webber Lake. The prominent shrub in the foreground is rabbitbrush. You can tell it's late fall because the formerly bright yellow blooms have gone to seed. A bit of a sunspot on the lens, but oh well--
