Walker Lake, Nevada
Destination of the Walker River, which rises in California's Sierra Nevada and flows east. The lake level is set by the balance between evaporation and inflow. It's dropped over 100 feet in the last century or so, since the arrival of Euro-Americans, due to diversions upstream.
It's an example of why this area is called the "Great Basin"--there's no outlet to the sea. All the drainage is internal.
