A herd of wild horses, consisting of a stallion, a bunch of mares, and their foals--plus a feral domestic sheep! The sheep's evidently a ewe, which probably is why the stallion tolerates her. They've been together for at least several months. Somehow the quote from _The Land Before Time_ seems appropriate...

Mustangs & sheep

Ewe that had joined a wild horse herd in the Virginia Range, in western Nevada above our house to the east. Presumably she's not a threat to the stallion. Rams & stallions don't get along! Alas, I haven't seen her in several years.
