Washoe County, Nevada, USA. On the Carson Range looking east to the Virginia Range. The high point directly above the right stump is Mt. Davidson; Virginia City lies directly beyond it. New Washoe City is the settlement across the lake on the left. The stumps are the result of a forest fire about 30 years ago.
