Dogskin Mountain is a small range, trending roughly northwesterly, about 20 miles north of Reno, Nevada. The highest part has several peaks in the 2250 m/p7400 ft range, of which the true summit is at the southeast end (2287 m/7487 ft). That's the one we climbed here. In 2011 we climbed the 2nd highest summit (2275 m/7464 ft), which is at the northwestern end. Curiously, however, that's where the USGS bench mark is! The Dogskin Mountain quadrangle also happens to be one of the USGS editions with elevations in meters.
