Etna has been mapped as a volcanic plug. The name may come from a nostalgic 49er! The Sierra Buttes are peeking out just barely on the left.

No, not _that_ Mt. Etna! This is a low peak off the Pacific Crest Trail in California, toward the vague northern end of the Sierra Nevada. It's been mapped as a volcanic plug. I don't know how it got that name--maybe a 49er with a taste for the classics! The inset shows a view from a distance, with a nice flag tree for foreground interest.
