Reflection
(Shallow) Washoe Lake in the Scripps Wildlife Management area.
Reflection, with Slide Mountain
(Shallow) Washoe Lake in the Scripps Wildlife area. "Bathtub ring" in the foreground, from the high-water mark.
Reflection
The upper (north) side of Washoe Lake, in the Scripps Wildlife Management area. This area has all been dry flats for the last dozen years or so, and it shows how remarkable last season was that it's _still_ flooded. It's dropped a bit, to be sure--note the "bathtub ring" in the foreground. The insets show views farther to the right.
Washoe Lake & Slide Mountain
The lake dropped by a foot or so over the summer (note the high-water mark to the right), but it's still extraordinarily full from the blockbuster season last winter. Looking north; inset is another view from farther up this beach. Washoe Lake State Park, Nevada.
Slide Mountain & Washoe Lake
Farther north along the beach from the previous photo. The "bathtub ring" from last spring's high water is obvious--altho it's been broadened by waves sloshing up the beach. Washoe Lake State Park, Nevada.
