Ghost pylons

Off the Five Lakes Trail between the Squaw Valley ski area (to the north) and the Alpine Meadows ski area. Looking north. I haven't been able to find details, but evidently there was an attempt to built a ski lift between the resorts that got as far as building the pylons, but then got stopped, I assume due to litigation of some sort. So the unfinished construction gives a kind of post-apocalyptic flavor. Now that the resorts have merged, there's talk again of connecting them with a lift, and maybe they'll use these pylons.
