Jackrabbit convention

Jackrabbit convention
Lepus californicus, a hare rather than a true rabbit, and very common in the US west. There were about a dozen individuals here in an area outside a gate to a ranch, where there was some agricultural equipment parked. I assume there must have been something to eat scattered around as a result of the operations! The inset shows another view, with yet another rabbit visible off to the right. On the way to Pasco Canyon, Toquima Range, Nevada.

Thank you, it's so rare to hear anyone write about the rabbits and hares of the west that doesn't treat them as pests!

We've a superabundance of them here, seemingly for just that purpose.
