Carson River
Outside Carson City, Nevada. It looks lots better than it did in November 2014 (inset)! Unfortunately, the viewpoint isn't an exact match--the nearly bare tree in the foreground is at the left edge of the inset photo.

Some certainly is. But the river shouldn't be virtually dry in the fall, as it was in '14, and doesn't usually flow so full in the spring. The Carson does have more variation, to be sure, because unlike the Truckee and the Walker there are no dams upstream.
