So you were in Bridgeport! How was your trip?

We took the Masonic road with an almost empty fuel tank. It is a long, long , long road with only ruins, black oxes and some squirrels. At the top of the pass, there is a crossroad with no sign. As my GPS didn't recognize the Masonic road, we were lost in the middle of the meadows. I choosed the good track to go to Bridgeport and his gas station (thanks to my navigational capacity)
A really great souvenir. After this event we went toward Yosemite by the Tioga pass

Wow! That's definitely on the back roads--I've taken my Jeep that way, but I wouldn't try it in an ordinary passenger car. As you've found out, you never head out in the back country without a full tank of gas! (And, in the more remote areas, you never pass a gas station without topping off.)
Here's the view from the old Chemung mine to the northeast of Bridgeport valley:

Presumably you either came down the road that goes by here, or another a bit farther south that comes into Bridgeport directly from Bodie (I took a trailer that way once--)
