Thanks again from my wife, who took the pic! We avoided the California side of Tahoe for a long time because of the crowds, after getting stuck in that bumper-to-bumper traffic on 89. We've since made a point of going after Labor Day, when the weather is still nice but the crowds have thinned considerably. Access to the Tahoe Rim Trail on the Nevada side is a lot easier.
Anyway, Tahoe is like Yosemite--yeah, parts get very crowded, but it's still a must-see!
