Our black tri we lost in 2007. For a while we tried booties on the big hikes, but it turns out they just get sand trapped in them so they're not a help. On a playa off the Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA.

Thanks, Pam & Gina! He was out of show breeding, but had a silly flaw ("straight teeth") that would keep him from his championship. So the breeder, who was a co-worker of my wife's, gave him to us! He had a much nicer disposition than his siblings, and also lived a lot longer to boot. (They all got cancer when they were around 7 or 8.) So it just shows how arbitrary and counterproductive the show standards can be--but that's a whole 'nother discussion!
