Deer in the alfalfa

Deer in the alfalfa
Irrigated field not far from where I live. Washoe Valley, Nevada, USA. These are mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus), which are found thru much of western North America. They get their name from their large ears.

Yeah, they're often there in the summer. Deer must not be susceptible to bloat the way cattle are!
