Burrows under the snow


Made by some rodent (not sure which) when the ground was covered with snow. I believe these rounded dirt ridges represent the dirt the critter pushed behind itself as it dug along, but I'm not sure. You see these rounded ridges (they probably have a name, but I don't know it) very commonly in the high country, where there's snow cover in the winter. My boot tip for scale. Toiyabe Range, Nevada, USA.
