but, to be sure, it's not continuous forest cover!

Thanks! I'm afraid your van would have trouble; it's an exceedingly rough Jeep track. It's gotten worse since we were in there in '03.

Thanks! It's probably as remote as anywhere in the contiguous 48 states. Feature, not bug! ;) As I commented above, the access to the reservoir is via an exceedingly rough Jeep trail. The nearest gas station is at Denio ("deny-oh") Junction, Nevada, about 30 miles away, and the nearest town of any size is Winnemucca, NV, which is over a hundred miles away.
