Off the Poudre bike/hiking trail, right in downtown Ft. Collins. It runs along the Cache la Poudre ("cash la pooder") River thru town. The post at the right, with the wavy blue water symbol at the top, shows the height of the flood that devastated the town in the mid-90s.

It was bad--per Wikipedia, 5 deaths and $140 million in damages to the Colorado State University library, whose first floor was flooded. It happened in July, so it must have been a flash flood from a huge thunderstorm or set of thunderstorms. It wouldn't have been sudden snowmelt.
