LOL! One of those state lines that results from a 19th century politician with a ruler... Actually, there wasn't a "California" marker--these were set up in cooperation with a wildlife group to try to discourage the hunters coming in from California, who often tend to be a bit casual about which side of the line they're on. And there are not many game wardens here.
