California Aqueduct

The original pipeline, crossing Pine Tree Canyon near Tehachapi. This pipeline is paralleled by the new aqueduct a half-mile or so east, but is evidently still in use as well.

Yeah, I was kind of surprised, too. But the steel making up the pipe is about like what you'd find in a battleship hull. Even a .30-06 wouldn't do anything. Sabotage would require HE (as in the 1920s Water Wars--the farmers used dynamite). And, I wouldn't be surprised but what there are surveillance cameras all along it now anyway. So it's not nearly so vulnerable as it looks.
