Two Birthday Cakes

Uploaded for the Vintage Photo theme Park them of "Birthday Cakes".
Ernest Illingworth's 81st birthday, August 18th, 1965. Springfield, Vermont.
My husband Brian, standing, his brother Peter, sitting at the table, his mom, Joanne behind him, and his grandfather, Ernest. I don't know why there are two cakes - no-one else's birthday was close. None of them look particularly celebratory.
Ernest celebrated every birthday by jumping off the high dive at the town pool. He did that well into his eighties. I'll post some photos of that (recorded by the local paper) at some point. Perhaps on his birthday. : )
