Elburg 2015 – Organ pipes in the Organ Museum

Elburg 2015 – Organ pipes in the Organ Museum
Spanish, 17th century

The original Elburg suffered from floods in the Middle Ages. In 1392–1396 a new city was built further inland. It was built using a grid system. The city became also a stronghold. The church was only moved into the new city after completion, so the church is not in the centre of the city, but close to the city wall. Elburg was a Hanseatic city, but became poorer in later years, so the city is well preserved.
