Dordt in Stoom 2014 – Vlootschouw – MLV Castor

Dordt in Stoom 2014 – Vlootschouw – MLV Castor
The Castor dates from 1950. It was built by the Naval Department to serve as pilot ship and as a communications ship during wartime. It could also be used to transport the government out of the Netherlands during an emergency. It suffered from neglect after it was sold in 1984. It is slowly being restored.

Here he is:

The Pollux

Tugs that were meant to be operating in a pair were often called Castor and Pollux, perhaps this Castor had a twin too.
