Proveniershofje

Proveniers were people who bought the right to live in one of these houses for the rest of their lives. They also received care and food. Later a system with rent paying was also used. Before it was turned into the proveniershof in 1707, it was used as a militia building and exercise terrain. Before that it was a cloister.
