The house of Thorbecke

The house of Thorbecke
Johan Rudolph Thorbecke (1798-1872) wrote the Dutch constitution of 1848, depriving the King of most of his powers. He studied in Leiden and was also professor of diplomacy and modern history in Leiden from 1831 to 1849, when he became Prime Minister. The house in the middle is where he lived in Leiden from 1836 to 1850.
The rear part of the house is for sale for € 1,250,000, the total building is € 1,950,000. The house dates from 1596. It has a very large garden of 1,100 square meters.
