Parking on the Kaasmarkt (Cheese Market)

This charming little parking will disappear in the near future. The city council of Leiden has called for proposals to develop this area. Proposals have to take the historic surroundings into account.
In the old days cheese was traded here, the cheese market is next to the Rhine, so that farmers and traders could transport their cheese via the water.
