Oysters, Dog Cockles and Snails

Found in the salted fish and garum factory (3rd century AD).
Oysters were highly prized and they were abundant on the coast of Barcino. The large quantity of shellfish found in the factory makes it likely that they were packed here, in the same way as other factories did in the south of Hispania. Dog cockles, sea urchins and snails were added to the garum giving it a special flavour.
