Monkwearmouth Station Museum

Grade 2* listed 1840s station building commissioned by the famous railway entrepreneur George Hudson. Now a museum, Monkwearmouth Station used to be Sunderland's main station until the bridge across the Wear was constructed and a new station built underground in the town centre.
