The Clock, Abinger Hammer, Surrey

The Clock, Abinger Hammer, Surrey
The 17th century clock and weather vane is a distinctive landmark in the village. Jack the Hammer, the little blacksmith on the clock, strikes the hour on his anvil. It bears the motto: “By me you know how fast to go!” The iron industry was very important to the county of Surrey in times past and this clock commemorates its passing.

I've still got the camera with which that Kodachome slide was taken, and the slide. But I no longer have either the spots or (alas) the youth.
