The Glorious 12th is an epithet usually reserved for the 12th of August although one cannot readily see in what way it is glorious for either red grouse or ptarmigan. This year, however, the 12th of April will be glorious for many as the easing of pandemic restrictions continues. Pubs (and restaurants) will be allowed to open to customers seated outside, a bold venture indeed in England in April. The garden of the aptly named Bold Forester was ready on the preceding Sunday and is seen just after the passage of sharp, wintry showers.
